Entegra EX5000 MFD USB Port

The MFD does not have the proper current to charge external devices; such as iPad's or phones.

The MFD was created prior to the inception of these external devices.

The MFD USB Port is designed for the following:

- uploading Jeppesen NavData and Charts

- downloading EMAX data

Pilots can easily test the port by downloading the EMAX data, earlier software versions do not have the capability. To do the EMAX, follow these instructions:

1) format a 2GB or smaller USB stick to FAT Default

2) take the blank 2GB USB to the aircraft, plug into the USB port on the MFD, power on the avionics

3) if the USB is recognized, you will get a message to download the engine logs

How to check Power and Ground:

If you are interested in a charging port, Avidyne's IFD USB ports are designed for charging iPad's and many external devices (such as phones). If you are interested in additional information, please contact Sales at 888-224-4410, or your local Avidyne Dealer.
