Can't find my private airstrip or airport in the IFD

In many cases, private strips or runways cannot be found in the IFD. This is because the airstrip or runway is not in the Jeppesen nav database. This forces the pilot to create a user Waypoint/ Airfield.

See 5xx IFD Pilot Guide page 3-59. For 4xx users, this information begins on page 2-52 in the 4xx Pilot Guide:

Here's an example of how that looks in the IFD:

When used in a flight plan, the user-defined airport will display as an airfield with no known runway orientation.

The only way to have the strip added to the database is to email Jeppesen and ask that the strip be added to the nav database.

Send an email to [email protected] and request the airport to be added. For that airport to be added, the airport/private strip should already be included in the government database and will make adding them to Jeppesen database much easier.
