When using the IFD100 App without a Jeppesen Chart subscription to activate the Nav Data update after entering the user name and password for the Jeppesen account press the return key on the iPad. Do not dismiss the iPad keyboard. If you dismiss the iPad keyboard before pressing the return key on the iPad the "Activate" button will be grayed out and not available. See the picture below.
